Downtown Friend Date

Yesterday Jenna and I went out downtown. We had the H&M store in mind when we went. I dropped off Mackey at the CDC (child development center) around 10:30 and Madison was already in there from the morning. Mackey loves going to the preschool class and Story is usually well behave when we go out anywhere, so I brought her along.

We headed out the gate and went toward the subway. I took the stroller with us so Story could sit down if she didn't want to walk. We had a lot of stairs to climb and go down so I felt bad that Jenna was having to help me out with them. Next time I will put both of the girls in CDC.

Side Note: The second set of stairs Jenna took Story and I was fixing to pick up the stroller until this man came by and picked up the stroller for me and took it down the stairs..It was the sweetest thing! Jenna then said..that would have never happen in the states.

When we got down to the subway I took out my map we got when we went on the subway tour. Both Jenna and me thought that we were suppose to go to Daegu Station to get downtown. We saw that we had so many stops before we got there and we would count them as we go.We get on the subway and had to stand for a couple of stops before some people got off before we could sit.

We were counting stops but also listening to the lady over the intercom. She told us that our stop was fixing to come up..but we thought we had two more stops from counting them out. We got off anyways and headed upstairs. None of what we saw looked familiar to us..but it had been a few weeks since the tour so we just rode it off that we just didn't remember too much. We finally got up to the very top and then realize we were right..none of this looked anywhere close to what we did on the tour. We decided that we may have only been a block or two away since Daegu Station is quite big. We went a block or two down and saw we were getting no where. We stopped at a cart nearby and ask a lady there if she knew where H&M was. She told us we had to go to the left and not the right like we were going. Jenna and I then got us a little pancake with sugar and cinnamon in it.

After we got those yummy treats we headed to the left like the lady told us.  We got down to the street and didn't see anything that looked like downtown, so we went back down the way we came. When we got back down to the subway area and Jenna asked a boy and girl were we needed to head. They told us to go up and out. I can't really explain where we were at. It was underground..but above the subway..there was a huge mall in the middle of it with so many comforters for beds that had Jenna and me drooling over. We kept on walking until we went through some doors that went into a Department store. Inside here we looked around for a bit at some make up stuff and some skin care stuff Jenna was talking to me about a couple days ago. Its called skin food..and its suppose to be wonderful for your skin so I bought some and the lady gave me some sample of it also.

We then proceeded around the store and walked out the door and found a girl that worked for the store. When we asked her where we should go to get to H&M or downtown she told us we got off at the wrong stop and that we needed to go back one stop. We were so confused..how did we mess this up?
Anyways..we got back on the subway and went one stop back and went upstairs to find YES...we made it!

It was around lunch already..so we decided to go past H&M and get some food. I picked Burger King since Story was with us and well..I didn't know any other food places around there and that one I did know! We went in and ordered our food and sat down. Story had to potty..so I took her really quick and came back to wait on our food. Finally our food came and we all starting eating. Story didn't eat to well ..but mine was pretty good. I needed food in me to give me more energy ..cause I was running low from walking in all the wrong directions. We finished our food and went to throw our trash away. They do the whole recycling here and most of the trash cans have had in English what to put in each bin..but not this one. I stared at it for the longest..then tired to look in there to see if I could see other kinds of trash..but they were new bags. Finally someone else came to throw their food away and I waited to see what she did. It's funny the stuff you can't do my yourself when you can't read the language.

We then headed back toward H&M and finally stepped through the doors. We walked around the first floor a bit and then headed up the escalator to the second. On the second floor we found some jeans that we both liked..but none of them were going to fit me I know that! They were all so small! Story got out of her stroller and took a stroll around the store. I took a picture of her at the window of the store:

We then decided to go up the next floor to where the kids clothes were. As I was looking around the regular price stuff..I realized that these clothes are much higher than the one at our stores back home. There's no way I would pay some of those prices for those clothes! Most of you know my favorite place is the clearance racks so I walked over to them and found me some deals!
A little more than I would usually pay..but the girls need the gripper on the bottom of their socks for our house...$5.50

$3

$5

Dress $9 and Pants $5

I was definitely right about the prices..when I got home I looked up the stuff I saw.

After we checked out, we headed back down and out and walked down the street a bit to find Jenna a phone cover. We found a store and went in. Jenna's phone seems kinda rare here cause there weren't that many phone cases to look for it. She bought one for her husband and we were on our way. It was time to head home and we decided it would be better to take a taxi home. As we walked down to the end of the street we found another phone place and went in to see if they had a cover for Jenna's phone. They had a better selection and she finally found one for her phone.

After we left the store we caught a taxi and headed toward home. The only reason I don't like taking taxis is because in most of them..the seat belts do not work. I didn't have one in the middle and Story's seat belt did not work...grrrrrr. I just held on to Story real tight and she fell asleep. We finally got to the camp and Story didn't want to wake up! I had to force her out of the taxi! We then went though the gate and walked back to the CDC to pick up our kids. After we got them out we headed toward home and said goodbye to our friends.

After Story woke up from her nap Andrew came home and we all went out to play in the park. We then called our friends back and ask them if they wanted to play. Here are some pictures and videos of our play!

We had such a great time playing and asked our friends to have a Nachos dinner with us. We had a blast eating and talking with each other.

God has truly blessed me with such a friend I already feel really close to.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Friday!
God Bless

Bible Study Wednesday!

Yesterday was Bible study Wednesday!

My friend Jenna joined Kelly and me for it and that made me feel really blessed. We got to talk more about our life and where we came from. I enjoyed worship also..and let at a few tears..but none of the songs totally spoke to be. Then came the devotional which was just excellent. I can't remember her name..but I think it's Claire that gave it. She spoke about her up rising in a Christian family that did everything just perfect...they reached their children about God..they would go to church every Sunday, they put them in Christian schools and  made them do volunteer work..etc. etc. When she grew up and moved away she realized that it was not her faith she had all those years..it was her parents. She realized that it's not the things you do that will get you to Heaven..but you have to have a personal relationship with Him. Nothing can get you there but Him. I really enjoyed her testimony/devotional...it help me know that I wasn't the only one that struggled with things like that.

Bible study was good and all the ladies talk a bit more about some of their situations and about their husbands. This is the book we are reading.

I haven't go the book or even started reading it since I came in the middle of it..but last night I found the sequel to this book

I read a bit of it last night and thought about buying it. From what I read..it's really good.

Any who! After Bible study, Jenna and I and the kidos went to the community center to get Jenna cable. Here are the girls..checking out all the guys playing table tennis.

Jenna getting cable!

They also rent snowboards for skiing trips.

After we left there, we went home and the girls took a good nap. While they were asleep Andrew came home for a bit while I took the car to the commissary to get some groceries. When I got home the girls woke up and Jenna bought Madison over here to watch Frozen with the girls while she went and got groceries. We she got back , Andrew got home and we all enjoyed talking once again.

Today was pretty fun! Jenna and I went out with Story shopping! I'll have more on that tomorrow.

God Bless!

Playing with Friends

So I will make this post short and sweet!

Yesterday we laid around in our pjs all day until Jenna and Madison asked us over to play. Jenna and her family got their first bit of household stuff in and that included some of Madison's toys. It was so sweet of them to ask us to come over to play! We let the girls play a bit and Story was really in the zone playing that she forgot she had to potty till the last minute and peed all over herself. So I left the Mackey and the bare butt little Story there with Jenna and ran back to our house ( across the street and two doors down). After we changed Story, Jenna and I got to talk a bit before Andrew called to ask me where I was. I had left him a text message telling him where I was going to be..but he didn't see it or get it..or whatever.

We usually go on Tuesday night the commissary to get groceries, but training is going on and it would have been really busy, so we decided that we'd go to the PX to eat. Jenna and Madison had to go the PX too to get Matt's (Jenna's husband) phone back from where they broke it..so it worked out perfect that we'd eat dinner together.

Us walking to the PX
Wait..did you see that man in uniform...that's Andrew. During training..everyone (that's working) has to wear them..I took him pictures of him this morning.

I ask Andrew if he was Jamaican :)...or maybe thinking something not so nice

It was totally weird to see him in a Army Uniform!

Any who! We walked down to the PX and order the girls a pizza while we all got Taco Bell. After we ate we ran into Mr.Kim and Mr. Joe (that's not his last name..it really remember it) and Bella and Joe's daughter. We chatted a little then made our way back home.

When we got back to Jenna's house we stayed outside and talked a little while till Jenna invited us in to stay and talk longer.

We had a great time getting to know her and about her life. Matt was been working late since training is going on but Jenna told me today that he walked in a minute after we left.

When we got home, I gave the girls a bath and soon after we saw that we had the movie Frozen on our Apple TV. We had pre-ordered it a long time ago and was waiting for it show up. We put the movie on and had us a fun time watching it..it's a really cute movie.

Well..like I said..short and sweet!
I had a great time with Kelly and Jenna at Bible study today..I hope everyone back home as a great Wednesday also!

Oh ..I forgot to share some pictures of the girls on Sunday..here there are.

God Bless!

Home Plus

Yesterday was a bunch of fun! Kelly, my new friend and I decided we would go on an adventure with girls. Before Kelly came and picked us up I was on the some of the Facebook flea markets around here and found a pink pea coat for little Miss Mack. I texted Kelly to see if it was ok that she took me by Camp George to pick it up and she said she would. I PMed the lady and told her I'd pick it up in a bit.

When Kelly got here we put the car seats in her new car and headed to Camp George. I felt bad for asking her to drive back to where she came from (she lives on George also) but she didn't seem to mind and it was only a 5 minute drive there. We went through the gate at George and stopped at building A. I left the girls with Kelly and went to get Mack's jacket.

Here's her new pea coat I got for $5!

After that pick up we headed down the street to try to find HomePlus. HomePlus is kind of like a Super Walmart or Super Target with a food court in it and other vendors. We followed the directions someone gave us online and found the way to go park. It was underneath this huge apartment building. I wish I would have took a picture of the parking deck, but each parking space had an red or green light above it. The green light means the parking space is available and red that it's not. We pulled in the tiny parking place and threw the kids out the driver's door cause there was no way they could get out their own door without hitting another car. The entrance was in the basement with us so we headed toward it and I saw some buggies. When I went up to them ..they were all locked. I didn't figure it till later, but we have to put coins in them to get one.

We walked in the door and there where some vendors to the side, like a flower shop and photo place. We didn't really know where to go next and then saw some people of up the escalator and we figured we'd follow them. The escalator was a bit strange..it was all flat and I figured it was probably for the buggies to be able to go up and down it.

When we reached the top we went to the left and saw a little vendor selling all kinds of hair bows and purses and cell phone covers. We stopped for a minute then headed down toward the food court. This place was really big and had a lot to pick from. They had western food..food like I showed up the other day on a stick..and they had Korean food. Kelly opted for Korea while the girls and I choose western food. I got a cheese burger and the girls got chicken. I just found a menu and pointed to what we wanted and she gave us a buzzer to tell us when our food was ready. To get the Korean food Kelly had to go to the center of the food court and order her food at the register. There were four or five places that her order could have came out of and they put your number order up when its ready. It's a little confusing trying to explain it..next time I will take pictures.

This is where the girls and I ate from.

Behind Mackey to the left a little is where you pick and buy your food. Then to the right of Mackey back there are the place you pick your food up.

This is Kelly...Hi Kelly!! Behind Kelly is another place to can get food..like pizza.

Our food was ok..but I don't think I will getting the same thing again. My cheeseburger had a piece of regular cheese on it and the nacho cheese you get from nachos on it..The nacho cheese was totally throwing me off ..but I gave it to Mackey and she liked it so I ate on their chicken.

After we ate we went walking around HomePlus. I stopped and got a buggie before we walked it..I think it cost 100 won. I pick the girls in and we headed to the shoes. Kelly loves shoes and she can actually wear the shoes here since she is a size 6 in a half. We walked around there for a bit and Mackey was already complaining..so I knew that this was not going to be a good trip with them. After the shoes we headed over to the toys/coloring books/party supplies. There were tons of Hello Kitty stuff everywhere and we picked up some coloring books..me for the girls and Kelly for her nieces.
The outside is in Korean..but the inside is all English.

When we left there we head to the electronics and then came up on the kids clothing section. They had the cutest clothes there..but I think they were like boutique style clothes cause they were pretty expensive ,  50,000 won for this one outfit..but it had a lot to it so I don't know if it was a good deal of what.

After that we headed toward the bedroom stuff such as bedding and pillows. Kelly found the cutest little cat pillow (she loves cats) ..but it was 20,000 won so we put it back down to find another home. We then made our way in and out of the kitchen aisles and found some interesting stuff. On the clearance looking aisle I got some plastic forks and some bags clips for 500 won a piece.

Kelly got a pretty ceramic looking thing to put her jewelry in and a toothbrush holder that looks like it's eating your toothbrush.

We finished up looking at another little vendor and Story found her some teddy bear clips for her hair.

We then waited in line and paid for our stuff. We were not given a bag ..just a receipt so I will have to get some recyclable bags and carry them with me next time.

After we checked out we went over to the first vendor we went to and got Mackey a kitty head band.

We then headed down the escalator and found that the buggie had magnets on the bottom so you don't have to hold the buggie going down.
Neat...and smart!

When we got back to the parking garage, where I left the buggie with the others and received my 100 won back. We then proceeded to Kelly's car and all of us this time had to go through the driver's door. We then took off out of the parking deck and got back on the street where we needed to turn left..but we couldn't so..we went down a little ways and Kelly made her first U-turn in Korea ever! She did really good..GO Kelly!

We finally made it back safe and sound and put the rug rats to bed. Kelly stayed a little while after and Andrew came home bearing gifts. Well..from the mailbox that is. I had ordered Mackey's birthday party supplies from Party City last week and also order us some jersey sheets and bathmats from target around the 8th of February.

Soon after, Andrew went back to work and Kelly went home . I was going to take a little nap..but I heard Story coughing and decided to wake her up to give her some medicine.. she soon went back to sleep. I couldn't seem to go to sleep anymore ..so I stayed up and played around on the internet.

Andrew came back home around 4:30 and the girls were still asleep. I guess they got tired from shopping!

After dinner Andrew had a little fun with the girls.

Anyways..that was our day. I am very thankful for my new friend and her patience with my girls. God has blessed me so much lately and I just want to thank him!

Till laters....

First time in Waegwan for Church

So yesterday we went to a Church in Waegwan South Korea this Sunday. When we learned about us moving to Korea, Andrew tried to get in contact with some churches here. We thought we would be stationed in Waegwan so he looked for churches around Camp Carroll. One of the churches was Armed Force Baptist Church. Andrew had spoke to the Pastor there and told him we would to come visit his church when we got on here.

The church on base is really nice, but we thought we would give other churches off base a try also.

We drove about 30 minutes to get to Armed Force Baptist Church and it wasn't a bad drive. When the GPS finally told us we where at our destination it took a few seconds before we realized what building it was at. We got the girls out of the car and proceeded to what we thought was the church's front doors. Wrong!..they were locked. When then walked around the corner and try to open the next doors. Wrong again! We then walked all the all way to the end of the building in the back and finally found where we were suppose to go. We traveled up 2 things of stairs and came to the 2nd floor where the church was located. When walked in we were greeted by the Pastor, another older gentleman and a Korean family. We made our introductions and soon after another young American couple made their way in the doors.

Service was to begin soon , so we asked for Mackey and Story to pick out a seat. We didn't know they would choose the second to last pew so we decided to move up to the front. There weren't a lot of us there..maybe 15 to 20 at the most and that was counting the pastor and his wife. We opened up with 3 or 4 songs that I hadn't sang before other than Amazing Grace. The pastor then asked for prayer requests and announcements. He seemed a little all over the place stating that he was going out of order and such but then he made the announcement for the ones that didn't know already(sand the younger couple) that this was his last Sunday at the church and that there will be a interim pastor till they find a new one. This sent a Big light off in my head...Is this why we are here? Are we suppose to be here!? I turned the light on dim and the interim pastor started preaching his message.  It will a little hard to follow him...he was defiantly preaching out of the bible..and he had a slide show to go along..but he was all over the bible..turn to this ..turn to that it was hard for me to focus.

When service was over they invited us down to the fellowship hall to eat some pizza and subs. They eat lunch with each other every Sunday and then after lunch they go back to church for an early "night" service. We got to chatting with the younger couple , Stacey and Felix and really enjoyed talking to them. He is stationed at Camp Carroll but since there are no places for family, so they will live off base. She and I hit off pretty good and had some stuff in common. She seems really passionate about what she believes and it trying to find a church that will teach the Bible.

The pastor and his wife had a new baby ...only 2 months old and the girls just loved feeding him his bottle.
His name is Brandon.

It was really fun meeting everyone..and was sad it would be our first and last day to see the pastor and his family. They had been at this church for the past 2 years.

The girls were going a little crazy and needed a nap bad so we didn't stay for the other service. As we walked out of the building Stacey gave me her phone number so we could get together sometime. When we got in the car I told Andrew about the light bulb I had going off and ask what he was thinking at that moment and he told me it made him think ..but really thought it was strange what the interim pastor preached about..it was related to something Andrew was studying about when he first made his call to preach...the Spirit. I told him that we needed to pray on it more...but boy ..their are too many coincidences going on here for them to be coincidences.

Anywho! We made our way home and came home a take a nap.

When we woke up ..we all got ready and walked all the way around Camp Walker and out gate 4 down to a little restaurant called Italy and Italy

When you sit down..this is your menu
You first mark how hungry you are. The choices were "hungry" "starving" or "very starving". We marked very starving and thought it would be enough to feed the kids also. Then you put what type noodle you want..then your sauce..then that kind of toppings you would like it..

I got the fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp and mushrooms

Andrew got fettuccine with marinara sauce with clams and chicken.

We also order 2 things of garlic bread.
Mackey ate a little of both
Story just ate mine

This place is the bomb and will be a total favorite of mine! It was delicious!

Well..that's all for our Sunday! Hope everyone had a good one also!
God Bless!
