4th of July'

We had an awesome 4th of July.

We first started off going camping with a couple of people Andrew works with. We don't own a tent, so we decided to rent a cabin for the night.  Cabins here are just a place for you to sleep...On the Floor!...with a couple of sleeping mats of course. No bathroom...no shower...But luckily there was a building just outside of our cabin that had all of these things we would need. The camp grounds were really nice...well..that's what I was told (since I don't go camping..I wouldn't know). Everybody else there were average campers and had seen lots of camp grounds..and this one was pretty NICE they said.

Thank goodness for the air conditioners in the room!!!

It was rainy all day..and it drove me bananas trying to keep the cabin clean of mud and dirt. I wouldn't have minded it all the much if we weren't going to be sleeping on the ground.

That night we went down to the other tented area and chatted and ate kabobs ( Korean kabobs..AMAZING). The owner knew Andrew's co-workers pretty well and brought down some flying lanterns for the girls to free. It reminded me of the movie Tangled.

We watched the lantern till it disappeared into the night sky. The girls loved it so much we did 4 more of them.

Story had been having a bit of a cough...so we decided to go to bed early. She had a really bad night and didn't sleep much..we were even thinking about going home. Finally the sun rose and she was feeling better..
We walked around the river edge a bit and threw some rocks in for a little while and then took a little walk around the camp. It was nice..but it was time to get home and rest so we could go out that evening for the 4th of July festival they were having on Camp Walker.

That evening we walked on over to the PX where they were having the festival. There were tons of people there already ...so we decided that we would wait in line for the train they had that drove around the camp.

I can't remember why Story was crying..but it might have been cause she was hungry.
While Andrew and the girls waited in line..I went to go find us food. There were many vendors selling food and I picked what I thought would be the easiest for us to eat. Hamburgers and Hot dogs.

When I got back to them..the train had pulled up and we all scarfed down our food.

The train was fun ..but really really bumpy!

When we got off..we waited in another line for the girls to jump on a trampoline. Mackey decided she would start dancing to pass the time.

My Big Girl!

Thanks Kelli for the bow! Too cute!

Almost there!

                                             Story loved it...Mackey..not so much!

After jumping for a little bit..the girls got off and went over to the bouncy houses..

They wanted to ride this thing..but the person controlling it said no..Story was too little ..and Mackey wasn't about to leave her.

We then walked around the festival a little and saw some friends and then decided to go back home until the fireworks started. There was so much confusion to where the fireworks were going to be shot from and I had asked around. Someone said that they would be shot from the commissary ..so we headed down the golf course and was going to sit upon the greens to get a good look.

As we headed down ..Andrew suddenly spotted something on the field and said..what is that...we got a better look and saw a whole bunch of fireworks ready to be shot off. It was 10 minutes before they were suppose to go off..so we went down some ways (about 100 yards) and sat down with our blanket.

Yes...this is how close we were!!!

We felt like we had our own personal show..cause no one else was around us. It was super special and the girls had a blast watching!

I know it's a little late...but I hope each and everyone of you had a wonderful 4th..!

Being over here with all the military families made it even more special for us...and it's amazing what they do for our country!
U.S.A !   U.S.A!
-God Bless-
